Dacula CIty Core

DACULA CITY CORE:

The City of Dacula currently has the City Core Project under construction which is located across Harbins Road from existing Dacula City Hall.  The city project consists of a new three-story city hall building, amphitheater, parking deck, lawn area, and future building pads for office, multi-family, and restaurant spaces.  Improvements to Maple Creek Park entrance and disk golf areas are also included in the scope of work.  The project is scheduled for completion mid to late 2027.

SANJO STREET WIDENING PROJECT:

Location: 

Sanjo Street which is adjacent to the new City Core Project that is under construction is located between McMillan Road and Harbins Road.

Scope of Work:

The scope of work consists of widening the existing one-way street to allow for two-way traffic.  Stop sign conditions will be added to intersections along Sanjo Street at McMillan Road, Maxey Street, and Church Street. This project will also include new storm drainage system, brick paver crosswalks, and road striping. Gwinnett County Department of Transportation has an intersection improvement project that will begin construction at this spring at Harbins Road and Sanjo Street to include new turn lanes and realignment of Sanjo Street with Tanner Road.

Purpose:

To improve the current substandard one-way street to a two lane/two-way street that will provide for safer and better access to the new city hall complex and adjacent residential areas for the community.

Timeline:

Project is currently bidding to potential contractors.  The city will open bids on January 22, 2026, and city council will approved the successful contractor at the February City Council Meeting.  Construction will begin this spring and take approximately 6 months to complete.

Out for bid
