Erica Pope Bio
Erica Pope is a Licensed Social Worker, dedicated Mental Health Advocate, and experienced Human Resources Manager with a passion for building stronger, healthier communities. A longtime resident of Dacula, Erica is running for City Council to create safe, inclusive spaces that prioritize mental health support—in schools, community centers, and across our city.
Erica’s personal journey has shaped her mission to break the stigma around mental health and ensure every resident feels seen, heard, and supported. Her work in social services has given her firsthand insight into the challenges families face, from child welfare investigations in Gwinnett and Fulton Counties to corporate partnerships that address social determinants of health at WellCare Health Plans.
Deeply committed to service, Erica is a proud member of the Sigma Omicron Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society. She has served as a board member for Positive Impact, Helping Mamas, and The Starr Institute. Erica also served on the Postpartum Support International Advisory Committee, where she successfully lobbied for the first Maternal Mental Health Day in Georgia.
As a first-generation college graduate, she earned her BSW from Auburn University and a master’s in HR Leadership from Capella University. She brings a unique blend of compassion, professional expertise, and real-world leadership to the table.
Erica lives in Dacula with her husband Gabriel and their two daughters, Gracie and Gabby. She enjoys family time, supporting local businesses, and getting lost in a good book from the Dacula Library.
