I didn't think the DECA club sponsored the event this year.

It seems to me that Aggie was there to try and sell something as opposed to enjoy the comunity event. I have been for the last 4 years and do not know of another place in Dacula that can provide seating for this function. Do you really want to have this outside in February, last year it was cold and raining, that would have been a great turnout. As far as the school cafetria participating, its a chance for you to see what they offer, my son is in college now and claims the DHS cafeteria served the best pizza.

Aggie, i am not trying to pick on you, just commenting on your post. There is always room for improvement in these types of events and I am sure the DECA club would love to hear any of your suggestions.

As far as the Subway by the Publix on Fence Rd participating, why would we want two Subways, the one half mile from the school was already participating
dawgfan, no worries, I know your not trying to pick on me.  I can understand why you felt that I was only there to sell somthing to the restaurants participating.  Let me clarify.  First and foremost, I was there to support my son's schjool.  I was encouraged by several of the participating restaurant owner's who are very dear friends of mine as well as customers to drop off a business card to the other retaurant owners participating.  Not selling, just networking.  At any rate, I did not because it became very clear to me that the venue was not the appropriate place. As far as my coment regarding the school cafeteria participating and the history of school lunchroom food being notorious, well...that was tongue in cheek.  My son also says the food is actually pretty good.  I was simply making a joke about steriotypical school lunchroom food. I only posedt my criticism of the venue because it appeared that a lot of people were uncomfortable due to the lack of air circulation.  I only want to make it bigger and better. I appreciate your comments and your participation.

Have any of you heard of or been to the Taste of Berkmar (http://tasteofberkmar.com/)? I haven't, but I've heard of it in the past. This seems to be a huge event in the Berkmar cluster. From the website the 2009 event was their 5th. I'm not sure how many Dacula has had as I haven't paid much attention to the schools until having a child nearing school age.

I would think that Dacula High should review how Berkmar handles their event and try to incorporate some of their success into future events.

From another event that I do know a little bit about at Berkmar (their upcoming business expo) the Gwinnett Chamber, Lilburn Business Associate, and the school system are big backers of other clusters learning from each other's success.

I'm glad there was a good turn out. Any other night of the week and I would have tried to make it.
