The Dacula Middle School had its annual "Donuts for Dads" event this past friday. Instead, I took my son with me to try Day After Day Cafe'. I have to tell you, after two failed restaurants in that space over the course of two years, I am so happy that we have a place that serves great food. My son and I both had the Sunrise Breakfast platter which includes two scrambled eggs (or any way you want them), a fresh home made biscuit, two strips of bacon and skillet fried potatos (and I mean excellent potatos...with red peppers and spices) or grits, I had a chance to chat with the owners Beth and Pascal and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Pascal has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and Beth is a natural with people. I thought the prices were very reasonalbe, and liked it so much I came back today for biscuits. Give these folks a try and help support local small business here in Dacula!

True! And the Dacula Burger is great also. The cook is from France and in regard to breakfast he knows how to make a great bowl of grits. Darn place is outstanding. Fresh biscuts, etc.
Im a regular there. For example a home prepared burger, fried okra, and a soda for cheaper than a McSlop value meal with actual taste and ten times the quality.

Finally tried the Day after Day cafe over the weekend and unfortunately wasn't all that impressed. Don't get me wrong - the food was good, but nothing special in my opinion. The cost was about the same as any breakfast cafe (our total was about $24 for 2 adults and 2 kids). One of the biggest drawbacks for me was that there isn't a kid's breakfast menu. I typically never finish an entire meal but had no problem finishing this breakfast, so I don't think the portion sizes were that good. Some of the lunch sandwiches sounded good, so I will probably give it another shot at lunch sometime.

Daculafamily....you make a good point about the kids menu...I didn't even notice that....
As for the food...I only tried a breakfast sandwich. You're right it wasn't oh my gosh great, but it was hot, fresh and good.
I guess....I am just glad there is a decent local breakfast spot.

For value, try Amy Lafaye's - good southern breakfast, great value. And the cakes - OMG - Old fashioned chocolate pies too.
